This is a composite fabric with the look of a knit, which is made by stitching a web (wadding) or thin fabric material to a base (base cloth) with "thread" from the top and bottom.

The exhibit included samples molded in a variety of shapes.

The molding is done by a common hot press. They said that it is marketed as a case for notebook PCs.
