Hot runners prevent unwanted runners from being molded during molding because the gate is always molten. However, the constant melting of the runner means that the material is always in the runner.
What would happen if you tried to mold different colored resins using the same hot runner? That is to say
If the material molded first is black, even if the color is changed to beige, the black resin remains, resulting in defective products.
To eliminate this problem, 20 to 30 shots of the molded product had to be discarded, which was a major challenge from both an environmental and cost perspective.
This was a major environmental and cost issue, so we began development of the Twin Way Valve Gate (TWVG), which allows two different materials to be changed in a single shot.
