Mass production technology for large battery covers.

Our company has been mass producing automotive battery components since 2012.

They come in a wide range of sizes, shapes and materials, from electric to HV vehicles.

This time, we would like to introduce the battery cover, which is one of the largest products we have worked on in the past.

Here are some of the products we have worked on in the past.


Shape of product

       Product size: 1,508mm x 743mm x 175mm

       Projection area: 10,555cm2

             Flesh thickness: Basic flesh thickness 3mm ( max 5.6mm )

             Weight: 5,412g

Moulding machine conditions

 Required clamping tonnage in normal moulding 10,555 cm2 × 350 kg/m2 = 3700 tonnes

 →Moulding machine over 2,000 tonnes: Cost increase due to higher equipment costs

  (Verify with flow analysis whether mass production can be carried out using a moulding machine with a capacity of 2000 tonnes or less).


Product requirements

 Deformation in the Z direction must be 10 mm or less.


(1) Mass production challenge with a moulding machine of 2000 tonnes or less.

Adjust injection timing using sequential setting of hot runner valve gates.
