A bus bar is a copper plate covered with insulating resin and is used to efficiently branch a large current capacity, such as in automotive batteries. Bus bars are often used in electric vehicles in addition to batteries.
We have been working on the development of busbar components, but we have not been able to achieve the same level of performance as busbars.
When sheet metal is attempted to be inserted, it moves or deforms in the mold due to the flow & pressure of the resin. As a result, the resin wall thickness often becomes uneven & cannot be covered satisfactorily, resulting in NG.
The sheet metal to be inserted is usually held in place by the mold's retaining pins, but we found that although it could be held vertically (cav/core), it could not be held satisfactorily in the left-right direction.
We therefore studied a method of holding sheet metal that would not be affected by the resin injection pressure, and made the resin thickness as uniform as possible.
