There are a number of points to be aware of when dealing with metal 3D printers.
In this article, we will introduce some of these points of caution based on past examples from our company.
Powder processing in 3D piping
Metal 3D printers can create 3D piping within the object, which is difficult to achieve with conventional cutting processes.
This improves cooling efficiency and shortens the moulding cycle, but
Depending on the layout and geometry of the 3D piping, the powder during moulding can get inside and remain in the piping, which cannot be removed after moulding.
Currently, the machine is stopped once during modelling to remove the internal powder, or the top surface is cut after modelling, the powder is removed and the machine is re-moulded.
After the powder has been removed, the machine is re-formed.
While metal 3D printers allow 3D piping to be freely modelled, it is necessary to take into account the treatment and post-processing of the metal powder when modelling.
