Cases of poor appearance due to gases generated during material heating during CFRTP press moulding are common.
In particular, resin scorching not only degrades the appearance but also the material properties, and there is a risk that the rigidity of the material cannot be maintained as designed.
A gas venting mechanism has therefore been added to existing press dies to improve the mouldability of CFRTP.
If there is no gas venting mechanism, the gas generated tries to escape from the PL but is unable to do so, resulting in resin burning (brown discolouration).
If there is a gas venting mechanism, there is a way for the gas to escape, so resin burning can be eliminated.
Metal photolithography nesting can be used for press moulds as well as injection moulds. Please contact us if you are interested.
